In 2013 the Queensland Government selected private developer Grocon to redevelop seven hectares of the 29 hectare Parklands site for use as the athletes village during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
RCP was engaged by the Queensland Department of State Development to provide audit programming services for the construction portion of the project.
RCP’s role included carrying out detailed reviews of Grocon’s development and construction programmes. RCP also provided detailed progress monitoring, reporting and programme advice to the Queensland Department of State Development.
Due to the extensive size of the project, RCP carried out detailed resource and critical path analysis, and produced simplified status snapshots to highlight the key time risks and opportunities of individual buildings and floors during the construction phase.
Following the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Grocon will modify the development to become a mixed-use residential community including one and two bedroom apartments and three bedroom townhouses. These residencies are expected to become available to the public from early 2019.
