Peninsula Private Hospital is undergoing a major redevelopment that will see the construction of four new operating theatres, two new procedure rooms, a new four-bed high dependency unit (HDU), and a refurbishment of the medical ward.
This exciting expansion project will bring much needed improvements to the hospital. Patients will benefit from four new state-of-the-art operating theatres, expanding the range of surgical procedures available at the hospital. These will be complemented by two new day procedure rooms as well as a dedicated high dependency unit that will provide enhanced care for those who need it. Wards will be upgraded with single ensuite rooms to create a more private and comfortable environment for patients.
“The new facilities will allow us to offer a wider range of surgical procedures and improve patient monitoring and care,” said Michele Gardner, General Manager, Peninsula Private Hospital. “We’re thrilled to see this long-awaited project finally underway.”
“While the private hospital sector faces considerable challenges at present, providing the best care and facilities for our patients remains our top priority,” said Healthscope’s CEO Greg Horan. “This redevelopment will allow Peninsula Private’s dedicated and skilled healthcare professionals to provide the Redcliffe community with an enhanced and expanded range of healthcare services.”
The new operating theatres will be equipped with the latest technology and will allow Peninsula Private Hospital to offer a wider range of surgical procedures. The new procedure rooms will be used for a variety of diagnostic and treatment services, including minor surgery, endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
The new four-bed HDU unit will provide a higher level of care for patients who require close monitoring after surgery or other medical procedures. The refurbishment of the medical ward will create a more comfortable and home-like environment for patients and will also improve the efficiency of the ward.
“The upcoming expansion of Peninsula Private Hospital will bring much-needed advancements to the Redcliffe community. The state-of-the-art facilities will allow us to offer a wider range of services and provide an even higher standard of care. This project truly marks the beginning of the next chapter for the hospital,” said Michele.
The redevelopment is part of Peninsula Private Hospital’s commitment to providing the highest level of care to its patients, and to meeting the growing demand for healthcare services in the North Brisbane region.
During the construction period, the hospital will continue to operate as usual with minor changes and impact on the hospital’s business.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2025.
