5 Questions: with Greg Atkinson

Get to know RCP’s Managing Director a little better, his thoughts on the industry and what’s next for RCP.

Q1: What led you to choose this path in business?

A: Working in the property and building industries provides an opportunity to contribute to tangible and lasting positive outcomes for the communities within which we live and work.  RCP has had the good fortune to have been involved in so many projects that have had a positive impact. I am always proud when I reflect on the great projects and amazing teams of people, we have worked with over many years. This is why I feel this industry is so rewarding to be involved with.

Q2: What have you seen lately that’s been inspiring?

A: Alexa Leary is the very definition of inspiring. Her achievements at the Paris Paralympics were amazing, and her determination and will to fight back from such horrific injuries and adversity is astonishing.  She is an absolute champion.

Industry-wise, PCA’s 500 Women in Property is an initiative that is inspiring to our program participants and to me in my role as sponsor.

Q3: What is the one book people should read to understand what you do?

A: The Trusted Advisor.*

Q4: What do you think is the biggest strength of this company right now?

A: Our greatest strength is our deep expertise and extensive experience in the industry. We have a track record of delivering exceptional results through our in-depth knowledge and strategic insights.  We also pride ourselves on our client-centric approach. We focus on understanding our clients’ unique needs and tailor our solutions to meet their specific goals, ensuring maximum value and satisfaction. This strength comes from our talented and dedicated team. Our professionals bring a diverse set of skills and a commitment to excellence that fuels our ability to achieve outstanding results. These results I’m pleased to say have been recognised year on year with awards from the Australian Institute of Project Management and other industry associations.

Q5: How do you see RCP changing in the next five years? What do you hope to achieve?

A: RCP will continue to evolve as a business. This is what any great consultancy services business needs to do. Not only to be at the forefront of providing quality services and advice, but also to be an attractive employer.

We will continue to expand on the scope of our advisory services in new specialist areas that complement our core services and maximise benefits for our clients. In doing so, we hope to play a significant role in achieving the legacy outcomes our clients desire, which also serve the broader industry and community. There are significant opportunities and challenges for our industry over the next five years. RCP is well positioned to guide our clients and projects through the current headwinds and to capitalise on future prospects.
