Our Adelaide team is delighted to have received a second award for outstanding achievement on the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development. RCP Director, Richard Little (pictured) and Project Manager, Hayden Kiss won the construction/engineering project category at the AIPM SA 2019 Project Management Achievement Awards held last Thursday at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
RCP oversaw the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development, designed by wiltshire + swain and constructed by Mossop Construction and Interiors from concept design to completion.
The $50m development was the largest to date for the hospital and comprised the construction of a new day surgery centre, 28 bed ward, staff gym and new three level basement car park; relocation of the central sterile services department (CSSD) to the former procedure/angio suite area and the redevelopment of the existing service compound and plant building to accommodate a new tri-gen (electrical) power plant.
Although it was a complex building project with a fast track delivery programme, RCP demonstrated a high level of healthcare expertise and successfully guided the project team to achieve all programme milestones throughout the design and construction phases to deliver a high quality, world-class facility, on time and on budget.
This is RCP’s second award win for the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development, with Richard Little receiving the 2019 AIB South Australian Chapter Professional Excellence in Building Award in the project management category.
This award also comes following RCP Director, James Goodson receiving the 2019 AIB Queensland Chapter Professional Excellence in Building Award in the project management category for his achievement on the $55m Brisbane Private Hospital Inpatient Unit.
These awards demonstrate RCP’s strength in the project management of health sector developments and our ability to guide clients to success on complex projects in operational hospitals across the country.
