RCP was engaged by Queensland health in the capacity of Project Manager and Superintendent for the Palm Island Home and Community Care Centre (HACC) project from April 2014. The project reached Practical Completion in October 2014. The Palm Island HACC facility was designed to provide home and community care services to the frail, aged and young disabled on Palm Island. Features of the HACC include respite rooms, multipurpose offices, amenities, an entertainment room and activities area, kitchen, laundry and storage areas.
RCP provided project management services throughout the procurement and construction stages of the project.
As Project Manager, Programmer and Superintendent’s Representative, RCP’s Northern Queensland Manager, Orlando Pullin, utilised fast track methodology to ensure rapid completion of the project to meet the client’s tight timeframe. I commend Orlando’s leadership and communication skills which enabled him to successfully negotiate outcomes with both Queensland Health and the Contractor. Orlando understood our expectations for the successful delivery of the Centre and managed client representatives, contractor and consultants to an extremely high level throughout the delivery phase of the project. Orlando also sought opportunities to achieve programme improvements and reduce cost outcomes. I was particularly impressed by Orlando’s attention to detail and fastidious management of the defects rectification processes.
I congratulate the RCP project team for the comprehensive level of service provided and their significant contribution to the successful delivery of the Centre.
I would have no hesitation in engaging their services again in the future.
