It’s been an incredible year for RCP Directors Richard Little and James Goodson, who have been formally recognised on multiple occasions for their outstanding achievement on the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development in Adelaide and Brisbane Private Hospital inpatient unit projects. Following their South Australian and Queensland chapter wins, Richard and James are thrilled to have received 2019 Australian Institute of Building National High Commendation Awards. RCP has received five awards in total to date for these two projects.
St Andrew’s Hospital Eastern Clinical Development – Adelaide
Awards received:
- AIB National High Commendation Award
- AIB SA Professional Excellence Award
- AIPM SA Winner Construction/Engineering
As RCP team leader, Richard oversaw the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development, designed by wiltshire + swain and constructed by Mossop Construction and Interiors. Richard successfully guided the St Andrew’s Hospital project team through the many challenges associated with undertaking this fast track development in an operational hospital environment, resulting in the delivery of a world-class facility, on time and on budget.
The $50m development was the largest to date for the hospital and comprised the construction of a new day surgery centre, 28 bed ward, staff gym and new three level basement car park; relocation of the central sterile services department (CSSD) to the former procedure/angio suite area and the redevelopment of the existing service compound and plant building to accommodate a new tri-gen (electrical) power plant.
Brisbane Private Hospital Inpatient Unit
Awards received:
- AIB National High Commendation Award
- AIB Qld Professional Excellence Award
As RCP team leader, James oversaw the $55m Brisbane Private Hospital inpatient unit development, designed by dwp|design worldwide partnership and constructed by Cockram. James guided the project team to achieve all milestones throughout the complex inner-city redevelopment project, which was delivered on time and on budget without causing any disruption or closures to the operating hospital.
This is James’ fourth AIB award win in recent years, following his receipt of the AIB National and Queensland Chapter Professional Excellence in Building Awards for his work on the $230m Gold Coast Private Hospital stage 1 development.
These national awards further demonstrate our strength in the project management of health sector developments and our ability to guide clients to success on complex projects in operational hospital environments.
Congratulations to Richard, James and all project team members involved in the St Andrew’s Hospital eastern clinical development and Brisbane Private Hospital inpatient unit projects for their outstanding achievement!
