Greg Chemello, Deputy Director General Planning – Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning was the keynote presenter at the June breakfast event for the Queensland Chapter of the Property Council of Australia, sponsored by RCP.
With over 120 property professionals attending, the Deputy Director General provided the industry with an outline of the draft Single State Planning Policy and State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA). The focus of the presentation was outlined in the Department’s planning reform charter – creating the most effective and efficient planning and development assessment systems in Australia and empowering local governments and communities to better plan for their future.
The presentation provided background on the initiatives and how industry can be involved in shaping the policies. To close the event Antra Hood, Partner – Minter Ellison, Greg Tupicoff, Project Director – Peet Limited and Simon Forsyth, General Manager, Brisbane – RPS joined Mr Chemello for a panel discussion on the industry’s view of the reform. RCP Managing Director Russell Martoo introduced the panel discussion, providing a Vote of Thanks to Mr Chemello and the panel members.
